An Exclusive Tour of Kiwi.com’s New Headquarters
Kiwi.com, an online travel startup that allows customers to combine flights from airlines which do not normally collaborate on single itineraries, often resulting in significant savings, recently moved into a new headquarters in Brno, designed by architecture firm Kaplan Architekti.
“Designing new premises for Kiwi.com was as fast-paced as the company itself. Offices are individually designed to fit each of the three basic parts of the company – IT, management and the call center. Spaces for creative IT are designed generously, as a semi-open area of separate half-enclosed “boxes” clad with rougher materials. The spatial concept deliberately evokes the slightly untidy working environment of the interwar villa in which the firm was originally based, and with which the company built a strong relationship during its first years of operation. The management offices are sparer, but conceptually close to the IT spaces. The last part – a call center which never sleeps – provides non-stop care to clients around the world; it was designed in the most efficient and simplest way. Kiwi.com is typified by its unrelenting work ethic, and therefore a large part of its space is dedicated to relaxation and entertainment. This includes relaxation rooms, meeting rooms with swings, grassy seating areas with views of the sunset, a fitness center and a sauna with a massage room,“ said Kaplan Architekti
