Inside Quora’s Mountain View Office
Silicon Valley-based Skyline Construction designed a beautiful office space for Quora, a popular question-and-answer website based in Mountain View, California.
“In addition to my day job, I led the design of our office with an interior design firm that I hired, and with lots of input from Steven Trieu who managed the build. We identified a few key themes that we thought were important ahead of time: Not artificial, natural and rough, but minimal and modern: We achieved this by contrasting natural materials like wood and leather with structural glass and white drywall. For the most part, we wanted you to be able to sense where people were around you, even in conference rooms. The space doesn’t have any private offices. Natural light: When we moved into the space, none of the work area had direct access to any of the windows. We demolished a lot of walls and moved the work area to the window line. We wanted to build a place that we’re proud of, that we want to work in, and that others can see themselves working in. I’ll show you some photos that we snapped while we were in the process of moving in”, says Richard Henry, Product Designer at Quora
