A Look Inside Jump Trading’s Elegant Chicago Office

Jump Trading is an innovative trading firm with a focus on algorithmic and high-frequency trading strategies. The company has office locations in 4 cities: New York, London, Singapore and Chicago. This is Jump Trading’s Chicago office which was designed by Perkins+Will.

“The layout of the space was divided into two primary trading floor areas, with a centrally located service core of the trade operations support, executive offices, food/beverage pantry, restrooms and the connecting circulation to the existing offices on another floor. Reception and conference rooms were placed at the entrance with additional support spaces, mechanical and electrical rooms organized around the remaining perimeter. For the new trading floor and offices, the design team’s goal was to take the existing pervasive loft aesthetic of the building and elevate it to a more sophisticated and refined urban environment. Using a warm palette of highly figured wood veneer, reclaimed barn wood and highly saturated accent colors, the design team created an unexpected counterpoint to the unadorned raw industrial materials of exposed concrete, rusted steel, exposed conduit and ductwork. The end result is a very efficient, highly integrated, but exciting and comfortable environment for the firm’s continued growth”, said Perkins+Will
