A Tour of Shutterstock’s Beautiful New Headquarters

Shutterstock, a popular marketplace that allows anyone to download photos, videos and illustrations and use them for personal or commercial projects, recently moved into a new, loft-like headquarters in New York’s Empire State Building.
Shutterstock’s reception on the 21st floor greets workers and guests with a large video wall that showcases content from Shutterstock.com. A dramatic 10 foot wide staircase leads to the pantry and café. The custom two-story, aluminum screen plays backdrop to the stair and was inspired by the Empire State Building’s original Art Deco heater grills. The pantry and cafe are designed to provide the daily, catered staff lunches with lots of flexible seating and a long series of islands for serving. Additional spaces include a research lab for product testing and studio spaces for creating audio, video, and photographic content. A steampunk-inspired library for reading is tucked away behind a hidden door. Additional amenities include three massage rooms, a yoga studio, and two game rooms with ping-pong table and arcade games, said STUDIOS Architecture
