Inside BMG’s New Headquarters in London
BMG UK is one of the UK’s largest music companies that offers a new digital-age service alternative to songwriters, artists and rights owners in the music industry. The company recently decided to redesign its headquarters in Paddington, London, to reflect the changing face of the industry and its position within it. The design was completed by Peldon Rose.
“BMG UK has a very collaborative culture, and combined with the core values of transparency and fairness, and Peldon Rose created an open-plan layout with lots of glass. Throughout the office the BMG UK team have ample opportunity to carve their own identity into the space, by creating blank canvases – blackboards, whiteboards, empty spaces – to populate their workspace with their own memorabilia, discs and magazines. The reception area is a bold positioning statement featuring exposed brick walls, industrial iron beams, spotlights and a stylish seating area. Behind reception is probably one of the most unusual features Peldon Rose have ever installed into an office; two soundproof acoustic rooms, simulating a recording studio so any of BMG UK’s music artists can play without the fear of having to ‘turn the volume down’. Reinforcing the value of transparency Peldon Rose strategically placed the boardroom in the centre of the office so guests and staff have to walk through the open plan area to reach it. ”, said Peldon Rose
