A Tour of Flatiron School’s Beautiful NYC Campus
Flatiron School is an educational platform that offers computer programming and coding courses to a select group of mid-career students. Because of the rapid growth, Flatiron School recently reached out to Matthew Cohen Design Collective to expand the capacity of its NYC campus.
“Following a thorough strategic needs analysis and space planning exercise, we worked to overhaul the campus from the bottom up. Space flexibility was facilitated through the fabrication of a 26’ long garage door that allows the showpiece classroom to be alternately open to the campus and closed for lecture time. A contemporary, friendly ambiance was delivered through simple materials and striking graphic installations. At the centrepiece of the revamped campus is a collaborative graffiti wall created by students, staff and NYC street artists. The wall reflects the ethos and ideals of the brand and serves to inspire past, present, and future students of the power of coding”, said mcdc
