MessageMedia, a leader in business SMS messaging in Australia that delivers 25 million SMS messages a month, recently moved into a new office in Melbourne, designed by architecture and design firm Valmont.

“To ensure optimisation of its high performance culture and talent, the environment needed to provide ample knowledge-sharing opportunities, extensive workplace efficiency to maximise speed to market and opportunity to retreat and re-energise. Whatever the solution, it was critical that the workplace be environmentally sustainable. We responded by developing an open-plan grid layout with strong, structural lines that deliver a contemporary, sophisticated feel. Boardrooms, meeting rooms and other breakout points were all connected to ‘hi tech’ facilities (including video conferencing) to align with the brand character and vision of a leading technology company. Scrum and stand-up meeting points were designed to provoke thought and facilitate impromptu interaction and connectivity. Whiteboard walls were also installed to enhance the productivity of these ‘collaboration sessions’. With employee health a major item on every business agenda, we also integrated stand up desking, while maintaining a balance of form and function. The result is a clean and structured working environment in which a range of spaces provide for different activities while fostering the overall approach of collaboration”, says Valmont
