A Tour of Brick & Mortar Ventures’ Cool San Francisco Office
Brick and Mortar Ventures, an early stage venture capital firm focused on emerging companies that develop innovative software and hardware solutions, recently reached out to interior design firm Blitz to design their new offices in San Francisco.
“Located on a cozy, tree-lined street corner across from the South Park playground, the Brick and Mortar office embraces the local neighborhood context and engages with the street-front. Blitz was tasked with creating a clean and minimal look while conquering the challenge of maximizing the intimate space to fit a conference room, coffee bar, work stations and reception area. Blitz optimized the office floorplan by using vertical storage along workstations, between the profiles of the building’s exterior columns, and in the coffee break area in order to minimize the need for stand alone or bulky storage solutions. The conference room is semi-wrapped in glazing to create an unobstructed view from one end of the office to the other. The office features warm rustic materials such as reclaimed wood paneling on the walls of the conference rooms and in the coffee break area. A locally sourced live-edge conference table brings a professional, polished look while reflecting the personality of the team. The bright green accents in the conference rooms chairs creates a fresh contrast to the wood finishes in the reception and conference room areas. Authentic materials of stone, herringbone marble tile, concrete floors, and steel at the reception desk create a layered and textural materiality that brings warmth and depth to the space”, says Blitz
