A Tour of PICO – Jerusalem
PICO is a new concept of co-working shared space located in Talpiot, Jerusalem that aims to strengthen the local network between creativity and entrepreneurship in Jerusalem.
“The project is located in the Talpiot industrial zone- an area of work-shops and small factories full of noise and grease stained clothes, that are being replaced with a chair, a desk and a laptop. The roaring sounds of machines is gradually replaced by the hiss of creative brains at work. This is the inspiration for the project. The area of the space is 150 sqm, and I added a gallery with an area of 50 sqm. The gallery was constructed with 10 millimeter thick exposed iron. The internal walls were built from black steel and glass. The two facades of the building were opened to two large windows, allowing natural lighting to seep through during daytime. Additionally, I opened windows in the ceiling to allow daylight to penetrate the centre of the building. The furniture and light fixtures were designed specifically for this project.”,says Shahar Katsav
