Inside the New Offices of Harris County Houston Sports Authority
Harris County Houston Sports Authority, an organization involved in marketing and bringing sporting events to Houston, while supporting local sports initiatives recently hired interior architecture firm lauckgroup to design their new headquarters in Houston, Texas.
“The tech-forward office is anchored by a 7-by-11-foot audio visual display, featuring an integrated system of televisions that constantly stream sports-related content. The media wall provides an interactive, high-energy, brand-relevant focal point within the reception area by putting the brand on display and highlighting the work they do. Red and blue accent pieces and furnishings were incorporated throughout as a nod to the organization’s brand and sports memorabilia on display in the entry. A warm wood wrap adorns the wall and ceiling to balance the bold color pallette and maintain an active yet clean aesthetic. Although individual workstations were a priority, lauckgroup also crafted various communal areas, including the break room, which looks onto Minute Maid park. Most importantly, the open plan concept allows HCHSA to become a more cohesive agency with a stronger sense of connectedness. Located inside the Partnership Tower—a conglomerate of organizations all geared towards the improvement of Houston’s vibrant culture and economy—lauckgroup provided a dynamic office space that expertly balances the traditional preferences of the HCHSA team with architectural details that support and enhance the brand. The result was a colorful, streamlined and fluid working environment, designed for spontaneous collaboration and idea generation.”
