Inside Agria Pet Insurance’s New Aylesbury Office

Agria Pet Insurance, an insurance company that provides lifetime pet insurance, recently hired workplace design firm Area to design their new office in Aylesbury, England.

“When Agria Pet Insurance’s existing offices were planned for redevelopment into residential accommodation, the company saw an opportunity for a fresh start in a new building. They leased the first floor of The Blue Leanie, an iconic landmark in the centre of Aylesbury, intent on creating a workspace that would impress clients, promote collaboration and make staff proud. Area was asked to transform the Cat A refurbished offices into a bright, modern, welcoming workspace with plenty of opportunities for collaboration. The design made the most of the building’s central atrium as well as the unique sloping walls, spreading daylight throughout the open-plan layout. There were a few M&E issues arising from the refurbishment that were successfully accommodated within the budget. The final concept emerged from a series of design workshops, during which a close working relationship was formed with the client. A team of ‘Agria champions’ was engaged from day one, with the result that staff love their new space. The offices are light and airy, with glass partitions creating a sense of openness. Senior managers occupy the open-plan areas alongside their teams. The space is ‘branded’ with bold graphic nods to Agria’s pet focused business. Breakout space is incorporated into the working areas, with a calm blue and grey colour scheme. Café areas are clean, shiny and colourful, and homely touches include a lounge area with comfortable sofas and quirky dog lamps,” says Area
