A Tour of Sberbank’s Modern Moscow HQ
Sberbank, Russia’s largest bank that offers a selection of banking services for retail customers, recently hired interior design firm Evolution Design to design their new headquarters in Moscow, Russia.
“Sberbank made a strategic decision to introduce Activity Based Working into its workplaces. ABW involves well planned design solutions within open plan offices to provide a variety of alternative working spaces, for both team-based and individual work, and empowers employees to choose a working scenario that best suits their needs. Today, this approach is becoming more popular in financial services and Sberbank made a decision to transform its traditional and hierarchical office model to an open, transparent and modern workplace in order to improve the efficiency and comfort of its employees. The majority of Sberbank‘s staff works in flexible teams, formed by specialists from different departments. The workplace concept therefore had to provide the maximum flexibility in forming cross-functional teams, which can expand or reduce in size or change their ‚base‘ location very easily. The diversity of working and meeting areas available motivates staff to change their working space during the day, stimulating a natural flow of employees, encouraging spontaneous meetings and information exchange along with giving the working day more flexibility and creativity,” says Evolution Design
