A Look Inside Parkeray’s Modern London Office
Parkeray, an office fit out and refurbishment company recently hired interior design firm Resonate Interiors to design their new office in London, England.
“We have designed and delivered a space that is open, inviting and reflects what the business does in terms of materiality. The reception desk is concrete with copper to celebrate solidarity and sustainability. A semi-open mesh has also been installed behind the reception desk so that there is transparency right across the floor that greets visitors upon arrival. A large open lounge area connects to the reception allowing a relaxed environment before and after meetings. This is connected to a smaller library space complete with a fireplace and shelving that enables visitors and staff to look through the semi-circular window and enjoy the view to Monument, including the daily hustle and bustle of London city life. Soft seating pulls the overall design together making the space look and feel much cosier. Arrival areas are surrounded by meeting rooms built in the crittal style glazing. This make the space look less corporate, feel more relaxed, but also visually trendy. Each meeting room has bespoke wallpaper, lighting and rugs, allowing a personal theme and colourway. This area has been dressed with planting and homely accessories. Parkeray has opted for an open plan & agile workspace. Various setting have been provided such as: hot desking, soft seating, high bar and dining areas all for working as well as collaborating. Desks have been installed with unfinished steel legs. This is intentional and makes no apologies for its heritage and adds an industrial flavour to the workplace. The worksurface has been finished with sustainable linoleum, all in different colours and are super-efficient in footplate according to the roll size of the linoleum so there was minimal wastage. The space is further bought to life with clever bespoke artwork and signage throughout, numerous personal touches are cleverly sprinkled throughout the space. The kitchenette and main tea-point have copper tiles along the wall and deep emerald green units topped by a concrete style worktop visually feels and looks ultra-homely, inviting staff in for a chance to reflect and take some time-out. A homely fireplace has also been incorporated into this space as well as book shelves that surround this little oasis in the office, where clients and staff can interact and enjoy the fabulous view to the private square below. Plant and sustainability were a huge part of the design. Parkeray decided early on to submit for a WELL standard and every part of the specification and design was analysed in this way. The plants not only soften the space, bringing biophilic design and all of its attributes, but also assist with the acoustics of this open plan design,” said Resonate Interiors
