A Tour of Peace of Mind Technology’s New Sydney Office

Technology company Peace of Mind Technology hired architecture design firm Hammond Studio to design their new part showroom, part office in Sydney, Australia.

“They wanted to create a facility that showcased the best collaborative technologies, furniture systems integrated with technology, agile working technologies and digital artwork using product available from leading manufacturers around the globe. The facility is a workshop, a showroom, a workplace, a gallery and an event space, all within a heritage listed, boutique office building.

This formed the brief for Hammond Studio to create a flexible and innovative space that serves many functions, but not at the compromise to aesthetics.

Our first step was to understand the structural grid dimensionally and create a fit out plan that showcased it, all columns and structure is exposed and highlighted using lighting or contrasting finishes on adjacent fit out surfaces. All new mechanical and fire services have been plotted in a way that maximises visibility to heritage linings and daylight penetration through sky lights and York Street façade windows. Highly integrated technology is partnered with heritage features in a ‘old meets new’ complimentary relationship that welcomes and inspires guests to journey throughout the space to discover this synergy of industrial and technological revolutions,” says Hammond Studio.
