Inside Top International’s New Singapore Office

Mining and resources company Top International Holdings recently hired architecture and interior design firm Conexus Studio to design their new office in Singapore.

“Taking inspiration from the potential of raw materials in the minerals and resources industry, the design for TOP International Holdings’ new Singapore office is a refreshing departure from the traditional corporate aesthetic, with an exuberant and organic aesthetic that brings out the beauty of nature.

A key consideration for the design was to create a workspace that would be comfortable and functional, while at the same time minimising impact on the environment. The result is an airy and bright office that makes use of sustainable materials, while inspiring creativity and collaboration among employees.

The Art of Working

At the reception, visitors are greeted by a polished space where metals and greenery are uniquely and artfully combined in a feature wall meant to resemble the facets of a mineral. At once welcoming and exciting, the space brings out the company’s forward-thinking nature.

This subtle juxtaposition of materials and attention in detailing is carried through to the rest of the office, such as in the boardroom where geometric ceiling patterns set off the space’s organic forms and materials, and in the open office area where workstations are set against a backdrop of cheerfully designed acoustic wallcoverings.

Coming Together at Work

As a global organisation built upon the strength of its talent and innovation, the new office is designed to support TOP’s forward-thinking business practices and places importance on employee wellbeing. A flexible breakout area takes pride of place at the heart of the office layout, encouraging employees to take a break from their workstations and fostering a sense of community.

This is complemented by a variety of smaller, more intimate meeting spaces that provide a quiet respite for brainstorming or focused work. At the open-plan focus work environment, workstations are positioned to have access to ample natural light and sweeping views of the cityscape, which helps to create a productive and positive work environment.”
