A Tour of Prologis’ New Atlanta Office

Real estate investment trust Prologis hired architecture firm RMW architecture & interiors to design their new office in Atlanta, Georgia.

“The Atlanta office is located on the 8th Floor of a high-rise in the Buckhead area of Atlanta. The exterior windows boast lush views of green treetops below. As such, the local team wanted to highlight their office with the convergence of these beautiful urban forests with the industrial cityscape. As you first enter the space, the conceptualized design idea of the trees of Georgia is visible through the painted ductwork “branches” above, accented with oversized acoustical pendant light fixtures installed at varying heights and upholstered in an array of green textiles that summon the feeling of being below a tree canopy.

On the adjacent vertical surfaces, an oversized conceptual map of Atlanta that resembles the roots of a tree and vertical wood tambour, mimicking tree trunks, trace the curved walls and reception desk, leading the visitor through the space. The ductwork throughout the space is treated as a design feature rather than something to hide. It is painted a warm terracotta color that resembles Georgia Red Clay and acts as a series of “branches” that connect the variety of spaces. The office design throughout plays with dimension and scale, as well as filtered light, to create a variety of workspaces that may appeal to a variety of users and tasks and to create a dynamic space overall.”
